The Packers and their unique structure require the team to release financial information to its shareholders every year. This year, the numbers show that the Packers and their 31 affiliates are doing very, very well. As usual.
The Packers report $402.3 million in national revenue. That’s the payment that goes to each team. That works out to $12.873 billion for the entire league.
That’s up 7.5 percent from last year, when national revenues were just under $12 billion. It’s also down $127 million from last week’s report that national revenues were raised the amount of $13 billion.
The Packers had total revenues of $654.1 million, a figure that combined national revenues and local revenues.
Still, despite a $43.7 million increase in revenue, the Packers’ profit fell to $60.1 million from $68.6 million. CEO Mark Murphy said that despite the decline, profits “are historically in a pretty high range.”
Commissioner Roger Goodell has long aimed to boost the league’s revenue to $25 billion by 2027. That may be too ambitious, unless the league expands the regular season and overturns the $14 billion Sunday Ticket verdict.
