Scarlett Johansson reveals how scared she gets when her husband Colin Jost and Michael Che break their secrets. Saturday Night Live tradition and trading jokes on “Weekend Update.”
During a recent appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, The Avengers The star called the piece, in which Jost and Che write offensive jokes that they read live on the radio without seeing them first, “brutal.”
“We have to go into witness protection after that night. I’m really scared that we’re going to be targeted. It’s so bad,” Johansson said of the segment. “I was completely unconscious that night. I don’t actually remember it.”
Host Kelly Clarkson also pointed out that Johansson will sometimes be the butt of one of the jokes, including in the most recent “Weekend Update” during the SNL season 49 finale on May 18. “ChatGBT has released a new voice assistant feature inspired by Scarlett Johansson’s AI character in Her,” Jost read aloud, as written by Che. “Which I never looked at, because without that body, what is the point of listening.”
“As soon as the photo appeared I thought: [screams],” the Fly me to the moon actress told Clarkson as she covered her face. “It’s brutal. It’s brutal. I feel like it gets worse every year. It’s just horrible.”
Johansson added: “I mean, I really don’t remember that segment. I was completely unconscious. And they do that at Christmas too. It’s like a little gift to each other.”
Jost and Johansson married in October 2020 and have a son together. Black Widow star also has a daughter with ex-husband Romain Dauriac.
