Tropical Depression Beryl has made its third landfall and is expected to move northeast, hitting Indiana along the way, the National Weather Service in Indianapolis said. Here’s the latest.
Tornado warning issued for parts of Indiana
At 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for parts of Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee.
The Indiana counties covered by the oversight are Bartholomew, Brown, Clark, Crawford, Daviess, Dearborn, Decatur, Dubois, Floyd, Franklin, Gibson, Greene, Harrison, Jackson, Jefferson, Jennings, Knox, Lawrence, Martin, Monroe, Ohio, Orange, Perry, Pike, Posey, Ripley, Scott, Spencer, Switzerland, Vanderburgh, Warrick and Washington, according to the NWS Warning. Tornado Warning in effect until 11:00 p.m.

Beryl is circling towards the East Coast. How could it affect Indiana?
Heavy rainfall and possible flooding are the biggest concerns as the storm heads back toward the east coast.
“Widespread heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are likely along and northeast of the “We will continue to monitor Beryl’s path over the next two days,” the NWS told USA Today.
NWS Indianapolis is warning of possible short-lived tornadoes south of Interstate 70 and east of Interstate 69. There is a 5% to 9% chance of a tornado developing within a 25-mile radius, especially Monday afternoon and evening.
The most severe weather is expected to hit central Indiana between 6 p.m. Tuesday and 2 a.m. Wednesday.

Indiana Weather Forecast July 9-10, 2024: How Tropical Depression Beryl Will Impact Indianapolis
Expect heavy rain in central Indiana, according to NWS forecast models for Marion County. Expect a 75% to 93% chance of rain and thunderstorms from 6 a.m. Tuesday through midnight Wednesday.
The chance of rain decreases during the night of Wednesday, but percentages remain around 60% until noon. The chance of rain decreases to 33% until 18:00
Wind gusts up to 40 mph are expected on Wednesday. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the duration of the storms. Temperatures should range between 69 and 79 degrees over the two days.
